Bachelorette Emily Maynard Steals You've Got Mail Line to Break Up With Sean

Looks like Emily Maynard brushed up on iconic romance movies before appearing as ABC's Bachelorette.

Giving Sean Lowe the boot on Monday's episode in Curacao, single mom Maynard, 26, drew inspiration from the 1998 flick You've Got Mail when kicking him to the curb. "I want you to know that I wanted it to be you so bad," Maynard told the 28-year-old insurance agent. "I'm really going to miss you and I've loved every minute together. Thank you for everything."

If her first line sounded familiar, that's because it was the same bit of dialogue Meg Ryan's character Kathleen Kelly uttered to Tom Hanks in Nora Ephron's You've Got Mail. "I wanted it to be you... I wanted it to be you so badly," Kathleen told Hanks' Joe Fox when finding out the mystery man she fell in love with online was indeed Fox.

Calling Lowe the "perfect man," Maynard broke down in tears when sending him home in favor of Jef Holm and Arie Luyendyk. But it was Lowe who took their breakup the hardest. "Never did I think I was going home. All week my thoughts were consumed with being a father, being a husband -- which I was fully prepared to do," he said on Monday's episode. "It hurts a lot -- a lot more than I can describe."

Maynard isn't the first ABC reality star to crib a line from a sappy flick to make an impression on their partner. On an episode of The Bachelor last February, Ben Flajnik's pick Courtney Robertson stole lines from Sex and the City when saying faux wedding vows with her man.

"I'm looking for love. Real, passionate, can't-live-without-each-other-love. When I look at you from across the room, I know that the key to your happiness is the key to mine," Robertson told Flajnik, borrowing from the SATC scene where Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) broke up with then-boyfriend Alexander in the episode "An American Girl in Paris (Part Deux)."

Maynard will extend her final rose to Holm or Luyendyk when The Bachelorette's finale airs July 22.
