Beyonce Slammed by Morrissey for Animal-Skin Handbags

USMagazine, Monday, March 4, 2013, 2:30pm (PST)

It was bound to happen. After slamming the likes of Kate Middleton, Paul McCartney plus  Victoria and David Beckham -- and bickering with Jimmy Kimmel -- British singer Morrissey has set his sights on Beyonce. In a Friday, March 1 concert at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, the former Smiths frontman and animal rights activist, 53, called out the "Love on Top" singer, 31.

Morrissey's beef with Beyonce: Her use of animal skins in her chosen high-end fashion accessories. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Morrissey sniped to his fans that Beyonce has helped quicken the extinction of rhinos thanks to her choice in handbags. He then proceeded to perform The Smiths' chestnut, "Meat Is Murder."

Last week, Morrissey feuded with Jimmy Kimmel for related reasons -- refusing to appear on Jimmy Kimmel Live because of a planned interview with the reality stars of Duck Dynasty, who sell products for duck hunters. Back in December, he blamed Kate Middleton and other British royals for the suicide of maternity nurse Jacintha Saldanha.

"The arrogance of the British royals is absolutely staggering," he sniped.
