Blake Shelton's Touching CMA Acceptance Speech

Miranda Lambert teared up onstage beside husband Blake Shelton at the CMA Awards on Thursday night as he accepted the award for Song of the Year for Over You, written about his late brother who died in an accident.

"I lost my brother in a car wreck when I was 14-years-old, and later in life when I decided I wanted to be a country singer, my dad always told me, 'Son, you should write a song about your brother,' " said Shelton, who thanked Lambert for finally getting him to write the emotional song.

"I just needed the right person to write this song with and the right person to sing it," he added. "I love you so much, baby."

The honor was the first of three for the Voice mentor who won big at the night's ceremony, taking home the prestigious statues at the show hosted in Nashville Tennessee by Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley.

Shelton won for Male Vocalist of the Year for the third time as well as Entertainer of the Year, right before his wife would head onstage to earn the same honor for the third time as well.
