Charlize Theron's Best Oscar Dresses

It's been several years since Charlize Theron attended the Academy Awards, and the red carpet hasn't been the same without the actress and her always-surprsing sartorial choices.

And while the Young Adult star, 36, was snubbed for an Oscar nomination this year, we can only hope she’ll still attend the ceremony in a drop-dead gorgeous gown.

She chose a glamorous pale blue strapless Christian Dior with a 4-foot ruffled train in 2005. Some critics said it was too prom-like, but we loved the dramatic dress.

In 2004 Theron took home the Best Actress statue (for Monster) and showed off her incredible body (and super bronzed skin!) in a dazzling beaded Gucci gown, which had a low-cut neckline and open back.

And back in 2000 she stunned in a tangerine Vera Wang with a daring plunging back and jeweled embellishments on the straps.
