Demi Lovato Goes Brunette for First X Factor Live Show!

Demi Lovato is going back to her roots!

After spending the summer as a blonde, the natural brunette returned to her natural shade on Oct. 30 -- just one day before The X Factor's first live episode. The 20-year-old got her makeover at the Nine Zero One Salon in West Hollywood. "She's going for more of an edgy look," a source tells Us Weekly.

Lovato has experimented with her hair several times in 2012, often sporting pink and blue streaks. The four members of Lovato's young adults team on The X Factor --Jennel Garcia, CeCe Frey, Willie Jones and Paige Thomas -- also got makeovers prior to the Oct. 31 episode.

"So proud of my group," Lovato tweeted post-show. "You guys were amazing."

Lovato and fellow judges Britney Spears, L.A. Reid and Simon Cowell will narrow the X Factor finalists from 16 to 12 when the show returns Thursday, Nov. 1 at 8 p.m. EST on FOX.
