Denise Richards hit the media circuit on Tuesday to promote her new TV role, and she also commented on her ex Charlie Sheen's hospitalization.
Earlier today, Sheen's rep told ET that the actor was hospitalized after having "an adverse allergic reaction to some medication." According to his rep, Sheen is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow.
Denise told LX New York Tuesday of her two daughters with Sheen, "They have no idea…they don't know what happened. Thank God our girls are young enough, they're 5 and 6 and I do my best to protect them from certain things."
"Our daughters are at an age where they're very young and thank God they can't just turn on the internet and turn the news on and hear different things. ... This is stuff that obviously they're too young to understand that I don't want to have to explain right now. So, we protect them as much as we can," she elaborated to LX New York.
When it comes to what happened last night, Richards would say only, "I want to keep what happened last night private. ... If Charlie wants to discuss it, that's his choice, and out of respect for him, that's his decision. I don't want to get into it, it's a private matter."
Denise debuts on Spike TV's "Blue Mountain State" on Wednesday night at 11 p.m./10 p.m. CST.
