The Hollywood Reporter -- TORONTO -- Being Erica's Erin Karpluk is to guest star on the Erica Durance-starring Canadian medical drama Saving Hope, now shooting its second season in Toronto.
Karpluk's recurring role will see her play a single mother and a patient of Dr. Joel Goran (Daniel Gillies).
Jason Priestley and Gregory Smith (Rookie Blue) each will direct an episode of the hourlong drama that aired on NBC for most of its rookie season.

Ilana C Frank Films and Entertainment One are producing a sophomore season of 18 episodes for Canadian broadcaster CTV and a slew of international networks.
The second season of Saving Hope will see Michael Shanks play the former chief of surgery Dr. Charlie Harris as he wakens from his coma and is reunited with his fiancee Dr. Alex Reid (Durance).
The series is executive produced by Ilana Frank, David Wellington, John Morayniss and Lesley Harrison.
Saving Hope was created by Malcolm MacRury and Morwyn Brebner.
