Now that the Golden Globe nominations have been announced, the guessing games can begin! Which stars will take home trophies at next year's ceremony? Which films and TV series will earn the most awards? Which recipient will have the craziest acceptance speech?
Us Weekly's movie critic, Mara Reinstein, and movie editor, Bradley Jacobs, sat down on Thursday, Dec. 13, to chat about the nominees and offer their opinions on who the night's big winners will be.

First, though, they revealed the nominations they found most surprising: those for Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Christoph Waltz, and Jamie Foxx.
"I love Quentin Tarantino. He's definitely a cinematic genius. But I did not think it was one of his best movies," Reinstein said, though she added later that DiCaprio and Waltz stood out from the pack. "As far as all the acclaim and the accolades, I just don't see it."
Another big surprise? Les Miserables -- but not for the same reason.

"I was really surprised to see Les Miserables nominated in so many categories," Us Weekly's critic noted, pointing out that it hasn't been showing up on a lot of other "top 10" lists. The Hollywood Foreign Press Association got it right, though, she argued. "This is a movie I saw a few weeks ago, and people were applauding after every number...I was really taken with the movie, and I think a lot of other people were, too."
Jacobs countered that he wasn't all that surprised by the recognition, especially considering the star-studded cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, and Amanda Seyfried.
"[Anne Hathaway] deserves to be there, and she deserves to win," Reinstein agreed.

Also deserving, Jacobs said, is Bradley Cooper, who is nominated for Silver Linings Playbook. "We were still not quite sure he was really that kind of A-list leading man who could open a movie," Jacobs said of the actor, "but now we know he can do both sides: He can butts in the seats, and he can get the critical prizes."
"It's just a shame he's not good looking, because then he would really have the whole package," Reinstein joked, adding that she was also rooting for Cooper's co-star, Jennifer Lawrence.
One actress she's not rooting for, however? Nicole Kidman, who earned a Best Actress nod for her role in The Paperboy.
"No, Golden Globes, no! I saw this movie, and I was cringing the entire time. It's so sleazy," Reinstein said, alluding to the scene in which Kidman's character urinates on Zac Efron.
"I exist for Nicole Kidman. I would see her do anything," Jacobs argued. "I think she has very interesting taste, and I go to see all her movies, including the duds."
