Candid snaps on Will on duty were added to his official website this week, but the inside look at a typical day in his life as a search and rescue helicopter pilot ended up giving too good a view when officials realized sensitive information could be seen in four of the snaps.
Among the security breaches: user names and passwords could be seen tacked up on a wall. The photos were quickly removed and the details pixelated.
"The passwords and user names shown have now been reset as a precaution, and we are satisfied the images do not contravene security regulations," said a Ministry of Defense spokesman. "All the photos have now been amended and reissued."
Besides revealing secure data, the shots show Prince William doing such run-of-the-mill tasks as preparing tea and making his bed.
"Down-time is also an important part of the job," according to the site. "When the crew is not conducting a search and rescue mission or preparing for a training exercise, they can usually be found re-charging their batteries in the crew-room or eating a meal in the nearby dining room."
Another distraction: video games, including "Call of Duty and other military-themed games."
