Duchess Kate has a lot of her plate these days, what with having to juggle the care and feeding of the fast-growing Prince George with her royal duties. But it seems one should never neglect one's personal grooming, especially when one is in possession of an endlessly scrutinized but mesmerizing mane of flowing, shiny goodness.
So last week, Prince William's missus took the time to update her hair, emerging with a 'do that's quite a bit darker, a smidge redder and several inches shorter.
The tress freshening came after she faced a barrage of unwarranted criticism last month when she had the audacity to display gray roots atop blond-highlighted ringlets during a Nov. 7 event.
Kate, whose focus has understandably been more mothering than her mop since giving birth on July 22, was "horrified" when she saw photos highlighting the gray, according to the Daily Mail.
On Nov. 28, she was spied making a beeline into the swanky Rossano Ferritti Hair Spa in London. Upon her arrival, Kate was reportedly escorted to a private VIP suite, where a top "color technician" spent six hours burnishing her hair into a rich auburn shade. It was seemingly time well spent.
"Her hair looked fabulous," one onlooker enthuses to Hello!. "Really big and glossy, and it was flowing around her shoulders."
As if it would dare do anything else.
Hours after the coif overhaul, the Duchessdazzled the crowd at the SportsAid's Sportsball charity gala as she took her new 'do for a test drive.
Word is, Kate recently parted ways with her longtime mane wrangler, James Pryce, after he featured photos of her crowning glory on his Facebook page. Promotion is apparently déclassé.
