Heidi Klum Breaks Silence on Split from Seal

In a new interview with Elle magazine, Heidi Klum opens up about her breakup with Seal and why she's refrained from discussing the split with the press.

"I feel like I'm in the eye of the tornado," Heidi told the magazine. "It's emotions inside of your body that are a tornado. And then the outside world doing all this craziness-with you wanting it or not wanting it-is another tornado. But as hard as it is, so is life."

In speaking with The Insider's Kevin Frazier just days after news broke that the couple was parting separate ways, Seal revealed that the information was leaked, as the former couple would have preferred to keep their family business private. Heidi named their children as the primary reason for guarding their personal lives so closely.

"I don't want to talk positively or negatively about the ups and downs that we had," said Heidi. "Every couple goes through things. Unfortunately, we're in the public, so the highs are out there. But I don't think it's necessary -- especially for our children -- to have the lows being printed in magazines and talked about."

Heidi and Seal split after seven years of marriage. The estranged couple has four children together including Heidi's seven-year-old daughter from a previous relationship whom Seal adopted.
