Housewives' Melissa Gorga Begs Hubby: Be Nice to Teresa Giudice!

USMagazine, Friday, July 22, 2011, 11:02am (PDT)

Looks like last Christmas was a not-so-merry one for the Giudice-Gorga family.

Months after Real Housewives of New Jersey star Teresa Giudice's husband sparred with his brother-in-law, Joe Gorga -- husband to cast member Melissa -- at a christening, the extended family continues to be at odds.

As evidenced by a new clip from Sunday's episode, Joe Gorga is not willing to even try to make nice with his sister's family.

"I can't sit there and break bread with people like that, [with] Joe [Giudice's] family," he snipes to his wife as she begs him to attend the Giudice family's Christmas Eve dinner. "They're running their mouths to people, saying the christening [fight] was my fault. Christmas Eve is one of my favorite holidays and I don't want to spend Christmas with the Giudices!"

In an attempt to keep the peace, a frustrated Melissa tells her husband he's run out of options.

"If we don't go, they wouldn't feel like we're trying to work it out," she says in the clip. "We absolutely have to go for a little while. It's Christmas Eve!"

While Melissa and Teresa have since agreed to bury the hatchet as their husbands continue to bicker, moving on isn't easy. Melissa says she is devastated to see what her sister-in-law says behind her back each week on the Bravo series.

"It's extremely painful, and it kills her brother more than it kills me," she explains. "I try to forgive and forget, but she has her claws out."

At this point, Teresa doesn't know if they can ever heal, saying "only time will tell."

The full holiday-themed episode of The Real Housewives of New Jersey airs Sunday at 10 p.m. (EST) on Bravo.
