"I can confirm that Jason and his wife are having problems, but there is nothing more to share with the press at this time," Aldean's rep tells PEOPLE. "It's a private family matter, and we hope everyone will respect that he would like to keep it that way."
Scandal ensued last September after Aldean was seen getting cozy with American Idol contestant, Brittany Kerr, from season 11. The Dirt Road Anthem singer released a public apology. "The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar," he said. "I'm not perfect, and I'm sorry for disappointing you guys."
Aldean later said he was confident about moving forward in his relationship with his wife.
"This year ... the good stuff has definitely outweighed the bad," he told PEOPLE in December. "All that other stuff is kind of in the past and we're just looking to have a great year in 2013."
Aldean and Ussery have two daughters together-Keely, 10, and Kendyl, 5. The couple met in high school and were married in 2001.
On having to face their personal relationship issues publicly, Aldean said:

"I think we're fine. I think anytime you go through anything like that—I mean, it's tough," the singer told CBS This Morning in November. "We've been together for a long time and through a lot of things together. Those are things that most people get to deal with in private, but we didn't have the luxury of doing that."
