Jennifer Hudson Avoids Nip Slip in Sheer, Plunging Gown

Between thigh-high slits and plunging necklines, stars like Rihanna and Jennifer Lopez are revealing more skin than ever on the red carpet right now.

Jennifer Hudson tried out the low-cut trend, but prevented a major wardrobe malfunction by wearing a black bra underneath her sheer, sparkly Ralph & Russo gown while performing at the opening of The Smith Centre for the Performing Arts in Las Vegas on Saturday.

The singer, who performed "Take Care of This House," paired the lacy look with H Stern jewels, a sophisticated half-up hairstyle and bright pink lipstick.

Hudson recently won rave reviews for her moving tribute to the late Whitney Houston during the Grammy Awards.

"It was the greatest honor of my life to be able to be the one to pay tribute to Whitney's memory," the 30-year-old told Us Weekly in a statement. "It was from my heart. I haven't stopped crying since she passed. Her family is in my prayers."
