Julianne Hough Chops Off Her Hair!

Julianne Hough has cut loose again, but this time it's on her hair.

The Footloose actress debuted a dramatically shorter new haircut at the 2011 Hollywood Film Awards in Beverly Hills on Monday, where she sizzled on the red carpet in a plunging gold beaded cocktail dress by Naeem Khan.

A witness tells Us Weekly that Hough, 23, and a friend came into Los Angeles' Nine Zero One salon last Thursday.

"She was in a super good mood because it was her first day being done with all her [Footloose] press," the witness tells Us. "She wanted to cut her hair off to get it healthy from all the styling since she doesn't work until the new year."

When it comes to past hair changes, Hough has rocked several different colors, but admits that maintaining her hue (like the brown shade she had when she played brunette Ariel Moore in the 1984 classic film remake) gets pretty pricey.

"It costs a lot of money to get your hair done -- it's not cheap -- but you don't want to ruin it, and you want you go to the best person and the person who's going to keep it healthy," Hough told Us in February.
