Kara DioGuardi Introduces Son Greyson James, 2 Weeks!

Great Greyson! Kara DioGuardi and husband Mike McCuddy became first-time parents on Jan. 31, welcoming son Greyson James Carroll via gestational surrogate. The songwriter and former American idol judge, 42, posed with her bouncing baby boy shortly after his birth in an adorable snapshot.

Born in California, little Greyson headed back east with his mom and dad to their home in the rural backwoods of Maine --via minivan! DioGuardi tweeted about the cross country trip earlier this week. "Can't wait to see the Grand Canyon today. On our cross country drive back to the east with GM," DioGuardi wrote. "Made it to NY from california in four days. Gotta love a mini van. I never thought I'd say love and minivan in the same sentence."

DioGuardi wed contractor McCuddy in Prospect Harbor, Maine in June of 2009. "They are absolutely in love with each other," Pastor Scott Nurse, Sr. , who presided over the ceremony, told Us at the time. "When I told him he could kiss the bride, everybody cheered. It was a very close, small family-type service."

The star served as a judge on Idol for its eighth and ninth seasons, departing in 2010.
