"I feel like we're all grieving together but also enjoying every last minute together," Walsh said of Private Practice's cast and crew, which includes costars Taye Diggs, Amy Brenneman and KaDee Strickland. "They're like my family. It's going to be a massive, massive shift for sure."
Private Practice creator Rhimes announced Oct. 19 that season six's 13 episodes would wrap up the beloved medical series born out of Walsh's Grey's Anatomy character. Premiering in 2007, the series followed Dr. Addison Montgomery, as she left Seattle Grace Hospital and began practicing medicine in Los Angeles.
Given the extra time Walsh will soon have on her hands, the actress -- who debuted her own fragrance, Boyfriend, in 2010 -- intends to stay active in her next role. "I think I'm going to be a ballerina now," she joked to Us. "I'm so bad it's embarrassing! What if [my next career move really was] 'Kate Walsh ballerina [at] 45?'"
In all seriousness, Walsh wants to move behind the cameras. "I definitely want to do more TV and produce and do a play. I want to do everything!" mused the actress. "I have my nose pressed against the candy store window and I'm like [a kid]: 'I want it all!'"
