Lucy Hale: I Used to "Go Days Without Eating"

Pretty Little Liars star Lucy Hale is ready to tell the truth.

In the September issue of Cosmopolitan, the 5-foot-2 actress admits to sometimes starving herself in the past. "I've never really talked about this, but I would go days without eating," Hale reveals. "Or maybe I'd have some fruit and then go to the gym for three hours."

"I knew I had a problem," the Tennessee native adds. "It was a gradual process but I changed myself."

Hale -- who exposes her bare midriff on the magazine's cover -- also speaks candidly about the first time she met her boyfriend, Amazing Spider-Man actor Chris Zylka, 27. "I was like, 'Holy crap! You're gorgeous!" Hale, 23, recalls. "It was like no one else was there. We couldn't stop talking."

The new issue of Cosmopolitan is on stands August 14. Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC Family.
