Mark Salling's 'Pipe Dreams' tracks on 'Glee': 'It'd never happen'

Zap2it, Tuesday, October 26, 2010, 5:01pm (PDT)

Puck sure knows how to party. Zap2it was invited to "Glee" star Mark Salling's "Pipe Dreams" record release celebration at MyHouse in Hollywood, hosted by Xomad's BBM Lounge. Salling, sporting Puck's recently missing mohawk again, took to the stage and performed two songs from his new album. But if you want to get a listen, you're going to have to pick up the record, because he definitely won't be performing any of his original songs on "Glee." Ever."Never in a million years," Salling laughed when we suggested it. "Just trust me. It'd never happen."Salling, who has previously released a solo album under the name Jericho, says that the new record isn't much of a departure for him. Like with his first album, he played all the instruments on Pipe Dreams. That doesn't mean that a few things aren't different now that "Glee" has become a cultural phenomenon."My music hasn't changed," he says. "It's still the same sound, the same influences. The only thing that's changed, the only thing that there is to be a little nervous about, I guess, is the politics of it all."None of Salling's fellow Gleeks made it to the party -- we hear that several of them were filming into the night - but celebs like Quentin Aaron from "The Blind Side" and "Dancing With the Stars" Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Karina

Smirnoff were in the house, and we had a great time hearing Salling play his own music instead of covering old favorites.Let's just say this was one party where it wasn't rude to be on our Blackberry all night. Our invitations were received via BBM, we ordered our drinks via BBM, and when our Blackberry battery ran out, we traded it for a fresh one. We could get used to this.Follow Zap2it and @cadlymack on
