'Tis the season to tie the knot!

Following in the footsteps of Matthew McConaughey, John Legend and Steven Tyler who all announced their engagements this week, Michael Jordan is ringing in the new year by putting a ring on it.

According to WCNC in Charlotte, the basketball legend, 48, asked his girlfriend, Cuban model Yvette Prieto, 32, to marry him over the Christmas weekend, his rep told the North Carolina TV station.

The pair have been dating for three years. This will be the Basketball Hall of Famer's second marriage: he and his wife of 16 years Juanita Vanoy divorced in 2006. Together, Vanoy and the star, who owns the NBA team the Charlotte Bobcats, have three kids: sons Jeffrey Michael, 23, and Marcus James, 21, and daughter, Jasmine, 18.
