The red carpet has seen a glut of motion-restricting fishtail dresses since the start of awards season this year. Perhaps in need of a breather from the tight gowns, stars this week have hit events in a more forgiving shape, one that doesn't require them to hobble their way down the carpet: the fit and flare.

But our favorite dresses in the style were worn by: Naomi Watts (stunning at the Academy Awards Luncheon), Morena Baccarin (finally having a successful red-carpet moment, at the Hollywood Reporter Nominees' Night); and Jessica Alba (stylish as always, at the premiere of Escape From Planet Earth).
