Habemus papam! St. Peter's Square erupted in cheers on Wednesday, March 13, when Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio, henceforth known as Pope Francis, was announced as Pope Benedict XVI's successor. But the excitement wasn't confined to Vatican City; within seconds of the big reveal, the internet was flooded with reactions from people all over the world.

Among the many who took to Twitter to weigh in on the election of the 76-year-old Argentinian Archbishop -- the first pope ever to come from South America -- were stars including Mario Lopez, Piers Morgan, and Joan Rivers. Even Jersey Shore alum Snooki had something to say about the new leader of the Roman Catholic Church.
