Nicole Richie, Joel Madden Throw Pricey Party for Daughter Harlow's 5th Birthday

Whatever Harlow wants, Harlow gets! Nicole Richie and husband Joel Madden spared no expense for their daughter's 5th birthday on Jan. 11. Per their little one's request, the couple threw Harlow a big-girl bash at the Beverly Hills Hotel -- with a big-girl price tag to match.

As the new issue of Us Weekly reveals, Harlow requested a party in one of the hotel's swanky bungalows, which run from $1,500 to $5,320 a night. So that's what she got.

"Joel rented it for her and three friends," a source tells Us. "They got to stay up late!"

Referred to locally as the Pink Palace, the Beverly Hills Hotel is a favorite hangout among Hollywood's elite. It's also an ideal spot for a girly girl like Harlow, who dressed up as a ballerina princess for Halloween last year.

"If it were up to Harlow, I would wear sparkle from head to toe," Fashion Star mentor Richie tells Us of her oldest child. (She and Madden, married since 2010, also have a 3-year-old son, Sparrow.) "She wants me to look like Miss America Barbie on steroids!"
