Another red carpet hit!

After making her big post-baby debut at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival on May 24, Aishwarya Rai returned to the spotlight Thursday in London.

The Indian superstar and former Miss World attended the opening party of the Bulgari hotel wearing a stunning black and gold embroidered gown. The top of the dress was black with a long, white lace skirt. The 38-year-old flaunted her curves and highlighted her world-famous eyes with dark eyeliner. 

Rai posed with British-Indian actor Dev Patel, who currently stars in The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. He will also appear in Aaron Sorkin's new HBO show, The Newsroom.

The Bollywood star welcomed her daughter Aaradhya with husband Abhishek Bachchan last November. Since then, Rai has been the subject of some harsh criticism in her native India for not dropping her baby-weight fast enough.

"[Motherhood] is wonderful. You ask the question and I beam!" she told reporters at Cannes. "It's splendid," the mother added. "It's inexplicable. The joy, the bliss, is wonderful. A smile from my daughter and that's it! She's good. She's great."
