Maybe all is not lost for Eva Longoria and Eduardo Cruz after all?

On Sunday, the Desperate Housewives star, 37, was photographed on an affectionate date at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood with the singer, 27. (X17, which features additional pix of the outing, reports the couple were "holding hands.")

The pair ended their year-long relationship last month in what a source called a "mutual decision . . . They're going to remain friends."

"Eva and Eduardo were seated together and deep in conversation," a Chateau source told Us Weekly of the reunited pair, sipping iced water with lemon. "They looked like there is still a spark there."

Indeed, Cruz (introduced to Longoria by his older sister, actress Penelope Cruz) was just what Longoria needed after her painful late 2010 divorce from Tony Parker.

"They kept trying to make it work, but it didn't," a source told Us a few weeks back.
