Suri Cruise is taking care of business!

While running errands with mom Katie Holmes in NYC Wednesday, Suri was busy chatting on a cell phone.

The adorable six-year-old, who was dressed all in pink, had a big smile on her face as she held the phone to one ear and followed behind Holmes, 33. Looking fashionable in a poncho and brown boots, the actress carried a couple shopping bags during her outing with Suri.

Could Suri have been talking to her dad, Tom Cruise?

A source tells Us Weekly that Suri was on the phone for 20 minutes and looked really happy during her conversation. Last week, the Mission: Impossible star's rep Bert Fields told E! News the actor "calls Suri every day, sometimes twice a day."

Cruise, 50, has been busy filming his new thriller All You Need Is Kill in England. "He loves Suri and is a constant presence in her life," Fields explained. "As in the past, when he's shooting in a foreign country, he has to rely on daily phone calls."

Holmes and Cruise finalized their divorce in August after nearly six years of marriage.

Last week, Joshua Jackson revealed he recently received an unexpected call from his former Dawson's Creek costar Holmes. Like any old friend, it was like, 'Oh, hi how are ya? What's going on?'; 'I had a kid,'" Jackson, 35, said of his phone chat with Suri's now-single mom. "It was very nice, actually."
