Prince Harry Moves Into Kensington Palace Bachelor Pad, Says Insider

    Prince Harry is striking out on his own -- kind of. A source tells Us Weekly the prince, 27, has left Clarence House in London (where his dad, Prince Charles resides) for a one-bedroom apartment at Kensington Palace.

    Harry's big brother, Prince William, and his sister-in-law Duchess Kate are currently renovating their unit in the mansion -- which has housed members of the British Royal Family since the 17th century--for a 2013 move-in.

    For the time being, Harry is residing in a former staff apartment set apart from the main building.

    "It's one of the residential wings nearby, not actually in the palace itself," the insider tells Us. "It has a bedroom, small lounge, kitchenette and bathroom."

    Currently, William and Kate are living in the modest Nottingham Cottage. Once William and Kate get settled in Kensington Palace, Harry will take over his brother's former starter home, the source shares.

    Harry's big move comes on the heels of his return to the U.K. after touring Central and South America for Queen Elizabeth II's Diamond Jubilee. Harry "has been at Kensington Palace about two weeks," the source says.

    "The place has been empty for a while, so he moved in as soon as he made the decision."
