The Hollywood Reporter -- Another Real Housewives marriage bites the dust.
Although they seemed like a committed couple on the surface, apparently there was trouble at home for Porsha Stewart and her husband, former pro football player Kordell Stewart, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
Earlier Tuesday, TMZ reported that Kordell filed divorce papers in Georgia on March 22, stating that their nearly two-year marriage was "irretrievably broken" and that the two are separated. The 40-year-old ex-Pittsburgh Steeler also claims, according to documents, that there are no marital assets to be divided up. Porsha is "an able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself," says his filing.
The Stewarts debuted on the current season of Bravo's Real Housewives of Atlanta, where Kordell was shown discouraging Porsha from pursuing both motherhood and career. They have no children, although she wanted twins. In a recent episode, NeNe Leakes and crew -- turned off by Kordell's controlling hold over his wife -- offered Porsha, 31, some unsolicited advice to establish more independence.
"I personally view a marriage as an equal partnership. I think you should treat each other with respect, consider each other's needs, and support one another's dreams and goals and work together as a team," Leakes wrote in a recent blog post, referencing her disapproval of Porsha and Kordell's dynamic.
The soon-to-be-exes have not yet commented on their respective Twitter accounts.
