I love Rosario Dawson! She manages to look elegant and sexy at once, and it all appears to have taken little-to-no effort! She was one of my faves at the Met Gala. Turns out her look is super easy to recreate! Her glam squad pros tell Us Weekly how.
The star stunned in a backless DVF backless long-sleeved black paillette-encrusted gown. Her hair stylist, John Ruggiero, wanted to show off her gorgeous back, so he created an understated updo. First, he applied surf spray then styling cream to wet hair and rough dried with his hands to boost texture. Next, he enhanced waves by wrapping sections on a 1-inch curling iron. Then he pulled hair back into a low ponytail, purposefully leaving a few face-framing strands free for a relaxed feel. To create the bun, he twisted the pony in sections and pinned each, for a look that was "effortless yet extremely classy." The finishing touch? A spritz of flexible hold hairspray.
For her face, makeup artist Robin Black worked with a pumped up neutral palette. "With so much shine and such an elegant fashion silhoutte, I wanted to bring the focus back to her face by emphasizing Rosario's natural beauty," Black tells Us.
To prep her skin, she started with moisturizer and lip balm, then layered on tinted moisturizer and concealer to perfect Dawson's skin tone. Next, she set the base with translucent powder. She contoured cheekbones, temples and her jawline with bronzer, then created a subtle flush with a rose bronze blush. Black applied the blush to the apples of cheeks and blended slightly upward towards the hairline. On eyes, she blended coffee and bronze shades from lash line to just above the crease and lined lids with black gel liner (for extra staying power.) For lashes, she applied two coats of carbon black mascara to top lids and once coat on the bottom for a "thick, sexy fringe of lashes." Lips were painted in a neutral pink liner, then toped with sheer beige gloss.
