Snooki Dyes Her Red Hair Black, Adds Ombre Extensions: All the Details!

The changes keep coming! On Thursday, March 21, slimmed-down first-time mom Snooki visited the Gemini 14 salon in New York City to update her look. The reality star's hairstylist, Bradley Moreland, tells Us Weekly why the 4-foot-9 star decided to try a sleeker, chicer 'do.

"She felt it was time for change," Moreland explains, noting that the Snooki & JWoww star wanted "a look that [requires] less maintenance."

Snooki -- who unveiled her 42-pound weight loss by donning a bikini on the March 18 cover of Us Weekly -- showed off the results on Instagram that same day. Though Moreland points out that "the bright red fireball color looks amazing" on his client, "it's hard with a baby [Lorenzo, 6 months] to maintain to your color every few weeks."

To give Snooki a more manageable color and cut, Moreland tells Us, "I brought her color back to a rich shiny black and added great lengths ombre extensions, giving a ruby red finish to the ends. I finished the look off with some flirty bangs."

The process lasted eight hours, according to Moreland. "I took the time to keep her hair healthy and give it an effortlessly polished look." Snooki certainly seems satisfied, according to her Instagram caption. "Thank you for my new hair," she told Mooreland. "You give my hair life!"
