Tribeca: Q-Tip, Director Todd Haynes to Take Part in Music and Film Panel (Exclusive)

The Hollywood Reporter -- The Tribeca Film Festival will hold a panel pairing hip hop artist Q-Tip with I'm Not There director Todd Haynes for a discussion of how filmmakers and musicians take cues from each other, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The panel, called Tribeca Talks Industry: Music + Film, will be an hour-long session moderated by Billboard editor Joe Levy at SVA Theatre 1 from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m. on April 23.

In addition to I'm Not There, in which six different actors portrayed Bob Dylan, Haynes previously directed Far From Heaven and Safe, which both starred Julianne Moore.

Q-Tip, a founding member of group A Tribe Called Quest, told Billboard in March that he is planning to reunite the group for his 2014 album The Last Zulu.

Previously announced Tribeca Talks Industry events include a panel on new filmmakers featuring Alex Karpovsky (Girls) and Lance Edmands (Bluebird) on April 25 and a discussion of "race, authorship and authenticity" that includes panelists Terence Nance (An Oversimplification of Her Beauty) and Braven Films CEO Frida Torresblanco on April 19.
