Vanessa Hudgens: "I'm a Total Gypsy Bohemian"

It's no secret that Vanessa Hudgens is a free spirit. In the March issue of Cosmopolitan, the 24-year-old Spring Breakers star opens up about her carefree lifestyle.

"I'm a total gypsy Bohemian. If I could go back in time, I'd be front row for Janis Joplin at Woodstock!" Hudgens says. The actress is a frequent attendee of the annual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Annual Festival in Indio, Calif. "The first time I went, I thought, 'This is heaven.' You just feel completely free. I'm going to go every single year until I die."

Hudgens' boyfriend of more than a year, Austin Butler, also appears in Cosmopolitan's March issue. Like Hudgens, the 21-year-old Carrie Diaries star tends to focus on the positive in life.

"I went through a period when I was rebellious and a mess of a person. I'd swing from happy to depressed, and I realized the patterns of my mental state were contingent on the feelings I was allowing in my head. Depression and anxiety can't fit in your head if you're cultivating feelings of joy and inspiration," he says. "So now every morning, I go for a walk and list all the things I'm grateful for. It makes me so happy."

Butler also reveals qualities he most desires in a girlfriend. "Someone who is selfless in nature and cares about others -- that's such a huge thing for me," he tells the magazine. "How someone treats a waiter or doorman can tell you so much about a person. And I'm attracted to someone who is a hard worker and is passionate about what they do."
