"Michelle was holding her daughters' hands [when they came in] and we
escorted them upstairs, where they had the dining room to themselves," she says. "I have to admit, I was nervous, but Mrs. Obama has a very calm voice,
and she made us feel at ease. She even apologized for causing any trouble. But it was no trouble at all - it was really our honor."
As they sat down and ordered drinks (Pepsi for the girls; house white
wine for Michelle and the other adults), Michelle said to the waitress, "'I'm looking forward to some famous English food.'"
After consulting with the table, Michelle made the order to the
waitress: fish and chips for Malia and Sasha (which consisted
of chunky chips, peas and hand-battered haddock), sirloin Angus
steak and chips for herself and prime beef burgers and chips for the
other men at the table.
"Everybody was in a good mood and enjoyed their meal," says Pinto.
They were talking a lot and laughing."
