Rooney Mara: 'I really wanted to be Lisbeth'

Some may recognize Rooney Mara as a supporting character in films like "The Social Network" and "A Nightmare on Elm Street," but she's about to become a household name. The next thing on Mara's to-do list is the star-making role as Lisbeth Salander in David Fincher's upcoming adaptation of the Swedish novel "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo." In the February issue of W magazine, the 25-year-old actress talks about what she went through to land the role of a lifetime.

On transforming physically into Lisbeth Salander:

"I didn't even have pierced ears. They put four holes in each ear and, weirdly, that hurt the most. It was all very organized. With David [Fincher], everything is measured and carefully considered. He wants what he sees in his head."
