Tot Tidbits: Madonna & Mercy Put on the Ritz, Katie & Suri Hit Target

It's been less than a month since Mercy James left her orphanage in Malawi, but she's quickly learning about the many well-appointed perks that come from being Madonna's daughter. On Wednesday, the button-cute tyke made her first trip to Paris, where she's staying in the snug lap of luxury that is the Ritz, where suites can run north of $18,000 per night.

Paparazzi were on hand as the Big M, who's in town with her Sticky & Sweet tour, arrived at the five-star establishment with her newly minted daughter (the rest of her brood -- Lourdes, 12, Rocco, 8, and David, 3 -- are also with her in the City of Light).

Mercy, 4, who was decked out in jeans, a pink jacket and matching shoes, held tightly to her mom's muscly hand as they made their way into the hotel and looked a little confused over why grown men were clamoring to take her picture.

Perhaps Mercy can one day compare notes on the world's most luxurious digs (and the ever-present paparazzi) with 3-year-old Suri Cruise, who is reportedly staying in a palatial, $20,000-plus-per-night hotel suite while mom Katie Holmes shoots "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" in Melbourne, Australia.

But Suri, despite her rarefied surroundings, is at least seeing how the other half (or other 99 percent, in this case) lives.

According to the Herald-Sun, Katie and Suri, with two bodyguards in tow, turned up at a Target outpost on Tuesday and dropped several hundred bucks on toys and housewares.

Among the items the actress picked out were a Suri-sized bike, a Barbie doll, a Dora the Explorer piano, flannel sheets, board games, kiddie-themed DVDs and heart- and flower-bedecked floor mats.

The couture-loving Mrs. Tom Cruise also reportedly nabbed a few things from the clothing department, which we hope included some casual duds for her often party-dress-clad moppet.

So, where was dad during the mommy-and-me shopping spree? Seems he's hitting the high seas. The paper says Cruise is spending a few days on a yacht belonging to billionaire pal James Packer, who is reportedly providing the family's deluxe accommodations gratis.

And in still more globetrotting tyke news, Sean Preston, 3, and Jayden James, 2, played tourist with mom Britney Spears on Tuesday in Paris, where she was performing with her Circus tour.

"Just had dinner with my boys at the Eiffel Tower," Brit (or, more likely, someone who works for Brit) posted on Twitter. "So beautiful!"

The adorable look-alike tykes were probably slightly less excited considering they'd already been there and seen that. They were snapped in front of the Eiffel Tower on Sunday with their increasingly husky dad Kevin Federline, who has been accompanying his ex-wife on tour (and being well-compensated for his time).

Also in Paris: K-Fed's girlfriend Victoria Prince, who has been hands-on with the tots during various outings, including a visit to a local playground, a showing of "Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs," a ride on a merry-go-round and a cruise down the Seine.
