The Associated Press is reporting that actor Burt Reynolds has been released from a Florida hospital after a planned heart bypass operation.
Reynolds' manager Erik Kritzer said in a statement Wednesday that the actor had been scheduled for the operation for over a month. Kritzer says the star of "Smokey and the Bandit," "Deliverance" and "Boogie Nights" told him that he has "a great motor with brand new pipes" and is "feeling great."
The veteran actor had the heart surgery last week and is now recovering at home with 24-hour nursing care.
Last fall, after an apparent accident at his home, Reynolds, 74, entered a treatment program for his addiction to painkillers.
