On Tuesday, a warrant for his arrest was issued after a female employee accused him of shoving her at the Old Absinthe House. The actor had been asked to leave the establishment after reportedly becoming embroiled in a dispute with fellow patrons who had been taking his picture.

Gooding Jr. met with New Orleans police on Wednesday to explain himself, and the warrant for misdemeanor battery was recalled.

He was due to appear in court on Friday to answer the charge, but the woman declined to pursue the investigation, so the city attorney has dropped the case.

A court official signed an expungement order on Friday, officially clearing Gooding Jr. from any wrongdoing, according to TMZ.

The actor is currently in the city filming the upcoming film "The Butler."
