Emmy Rossum Twitterview

By Dana Flax
At a ripe old 23, Emmy Rossum has established herself as an accomplished actress, singer/songwriter and as an on-screen love interest to Gerard Butler. Plus, she's, like, really entertaining to follow on Twitter.
Emmy took time from a busy schedule promoting her new film "Dare" to tweet with us about her friends and co-stars, how she's *not* a hipster, and that we are, in fact, better than "Access Hollywood." Thanks, girl!

@WonderwallMSN: Hey @emmyrossum! Ready to start? Excited for your first Twitterview? Nervous? Confused?
@emmyrossum: Yep, I'm all over it! Let's do it. I like this kind of interview, I don't even have to put on lipstick! Sweet!
![@WonderwallMSN: Ha, now you know why we work for a Web site ;) So how was the Dare premiere last night?Video: Check out the DARE premiere @emmyrossum: Premiere was fun! Awesome to see the cast. Premieres are exciting as people get to see the film. I really hoped my dress wasn't see-through! It's really fun to see [the movie] with an audience. A high school-aged girl came up to us and said it was the most real depiction of high school she'd seen in movies.@WonderwallMSN: We saw pics; you looked great (and not see-through)! Tell us about Dare. Is it a cop drama about keeping school-aged kids from doing drugs? (JKing!)](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/17067_Original.jpg)

![@emmyrossum: Dare follows three high school seniors in their last semester of school -- it's a love triangle, about trying to figure out who you are and who you're NOT. It's a dark, sexy, funny, pretty realistic take on what it's like to be young today. It also shows how people aren't really as easily categorizable as you might initially think. These [characters] might SEEM to be the good girl, the bad boy or the loner, but people are a lot darker and deeper than you might think... Out of that comes all the intimacy.](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/17101_Original.jpg)

![@emmyrossum: Zach Gilford and I are in a car on our way to another interview [with Access Hollywood] -- not as cool though, cuz its not a Twitterview!@WonderwallMSN: Yeah! It's like Interview 2.0. You've done a lot of big blockbusters. How did you like doing an indie? Have you gained more hipster cred?](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/17096_Original.jpg)

![@emmyrossum: That's the first time Emmy and hipster have ever been in the same sentence!! :) I love doing indie character films. It's all about story telling. Going to sundance with @DAREthemovie was awesome. Hadn't been there with a film since my first movie Songcatcher, when I was 13 [years old] in 2000! It feels like I'm back to my roots, so to speak.@WonderwallMSN: The movie's tagline says to do something you're afraid of. What are your biggest fears?@emmyrossum: I'm totally afraid of jumping out [of a] plane! Not afraid of things like spiders, just nutsy things like jumping out of planes. But Zach Gilford, who plays Johnny [in Dare], has done it!](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/15377_Original.jpg)

@WonderwallMSN: Wow, that's an adventurous man! There's a lot of comedians in the cast (Ana Gasteyer, Sandra Bernhard, Alan Cumming). Did you feel pressure to be funny on set?
@emmyrossum: It's AWEsome working with Alan. He's pretty harsh to my character in our scenes. After filming he said, "I'm so sorry to be so mean to you!" Didn't feel "pressure" to be funny, per se. But a lot of comedic awkwardness definitely comes out of the sex scenes!!
![@WonderwallMSN: You're in Hollywood's League of Sexy Jews. Any chance you'd remake Fiddler [on the Roof] with James Franco? Yentl with Adam Brody? (We're Jews so we can ask that.)@emmyrossum: Only if we include Adrien Brody, Gwyneth Paltrow, Adam Sandler and Natalie Portman!](http://static.wonderwall.com/Photos/Original/14953_Original.jpg)

@WonderwallMSN: LOL they're invited! You're pretty close with Leighton Meester, right? You guys borrow each other's clothes? Would you ever do "Gossip Girl"?
@emmyrossum: Nah, we don't swap clothes; we do swap make-up tips though. She's a cool girl! We wear the same shoe size -- I might have to raid that! Growing up in NYC was kinda like a real life "Gossip Girl" ... But I wasn't in the popular crowd; I was more of a theater geek. I was more the Jenny Humphrey type ... sans eye-liner. Mom would never let me outta the house like that!

@WonderwallMSN: Well, we always keep an eye on what you're wearing. Loved the GQ Gentlemen's Ball dress! What trends are you into right now?
@emmyrossum: Trends? I love tights, berets, gold nails, red lips ... I love it all!!!!
@WonderwallMSN: Sounds Euro! We like it. You're a singer. Who are you listening to these days? What's on your iPod?

@emmyrossum: Passion Pit, Paper Route, Sigur Ros, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Alison Krauss, Norah Jones.... Always mixing it up.

@WonderwallMSN: Passion Pit!? That's hipster stuff right there ;). You sang in "Phantom of the Opera" with Gerard Butler. Is he the lothario the tabloids make him out to be?
@emmyrossum: He's like a big brother to me! We gotta run, Z.G. and I are wandering through the halls at NBC. Lost, trying to find Billy Bush, getting escorted out by security! LOL!
![@WonderwallMSN: Oh no! Hope you find your way! Thanks for tweeting with us! Was a lot of fun.
