On the heels of the record-breaking success of 'Avatar,' even more blue creatures are coming to a theater near you. George Lopez, Katy Perry, Alan Cumming, and Jonathan Winters will voice the animated cast of 'Smurfs' and Neil Patrick Harris will be a live-action character in the film, according to Variety.
Winters will take on the role of Papa Smurf. He lent his voice to multiple characters on the television version of the classic cartoon. Perry is up for Smurfette with Cumming as Gutsy Smurf. According to Variety, funnyman Lopez will try on a new mood as Grouchy Smurf.
The 'Smurfs' are the brainchild of Pierre Culliford, also known as Peyo. The Belgian cartoonist sketched the famous blue characters in 1958. Since then, the 'Smurfs' have garnered attention worldwide in both print and on the screen.
