Katy Perry's on-again, off-again dalliance with strapping Florence + the Machine guitarist Robert Ackroyd may be on the upswing. Or so says the Daily Mirror, which claims the rocker plans to relocate from London to Los Angeles to be closer to the doll-faced popster.
"Katy doesn't want to make the same mistakes she made with Russell," asserts a source. "The long-distance thing didn't work, so if she's going to settle down again, it needs to be with someone who can be close at hand when she needs them."
The insider then dramatically declares, "It seems really sudden, but it's now or never for them."
Keep in mind that Katy, 27, and Robert have been casually dating only since April, and she's coming out of a fizzled relationship that began with a whirlwind courtship.
The sensible approach, of course, would be to take things slow, but the spy breathlessly explains, "Rob is making the move overseas towards the end of the year. … They've spent the majority of the past few months apart, so in one way it will actually be a test of their relationship to be around each other so much."
Perry, meanwhile, has played down the importance of the hookup.
"That's not even appropriate to label," she told USA Today earlier this month. "There are times I go out and meet people and flirt, but it's not really appropriate to have anything serious."
