Has Demi Lovato hit a pothole as she cruises along on the road to recovery? The New York Post claims the rehabbed starlet, 18, has called it quits with rumored beau Wilmer Valderrama, 31.

"The age difference meant they were in completely different places in their lives," says a source.

The pair reportedly began dating in the spring of 2010 and reconnected after Demi left rehab in January, although sightings have been scarce.

Meanwhile, Lovato may be dealing with another personal hiccup: Seems her mom, Dianna Hart de la Garza, recently completed her own stay in treatment.

"It has been a tough year for Demi, and her mom has been a constant source of support," an insider explains to the paper. "But fame has also taken its toll on her family. Now [that] Demi is strong again, her mom could take some time to deal with her own issues." The starlet's reps are mum on the rumblings.
