Andrew and Emma Ask to Be Left Alone, Remain Courteous While Doing So
All-around adorable couple Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield have learned that the paparazzi are a lot like the Terminator: They can't be bargained with. They can't be reasoned with. They don't feel pity or remorse or fear. On Sunday, a shutterbug turned a deaf ear to the "Amazing Spider-Man" duo's entreaties for privacy while out and about in New York.
"I'm just trying to walk around," the actress can be seen telling the snapper in a video over at Gossip Cop. "It's Sunday. No, no, no, I really don't want to [take photos] today."
Later, Garfield tries the direct approach, calmly explaining that he and Stone just want to spend the day together without flashbulbs.
"We can all be human beings and talk," he tells the reluctant-to-engage paparazzo, who ignores his request to turn off the camera during their chat and instead suggests, "If you just give us the two-shot, we can leave you alone."
Responds the actor, "We're not going to pimp out our personal life for the sake of anyone else."
Garfield, who introduces himself to the photographer by his first name and shakes his hand, eventually gives up, wishing the lensman "a good day" and hailing a cab with Stone.
