Is Serial Wooer John Mayer 'Head Over Heels' for Katy?

Last week, we learned how Katy Perry might have tamed John Mayer's Lothario ways. Now comes word that she may have gained the upper hand in the romance, too.

"He truly appears to be totally head over heels [in love] with Katy," a source tells the Chicago Sun-Times. "For once, he might be the one who has placed himself in a very vulnerable place."

Sure, he may look miserable in photos, but inside he's apparently having a wonderful time. This week, the twosome turned up in her hometown of Santa Barbara, where they were snapped checking out the Old Mission.

"They were holding hands and laughing, and when they visited the balcony of the building, they kissed a few times. It was really romantic," relays an X17 paparazzo. "They were all over each other the whole time."

The getaway followed an equally affectionate sighting of the fickle pair at a friend's birthday bash in Los Angeles.

But the Sun-Times spy wonders if the former Mrs. Russell Brand is ready for a supposedly new and improved Mayer.

"Wouldn't it be ironic if it was John who got the boot this time?" muses the snitch, before adding, "But Katy is a very sensitive girl, and if she does dump him, it will be done very gently."
