Kate Winslet is apparently choosing to ignore the red flags flapping around rumored new love interest Ned Rocknroll (née Abel Smith). The London Sun claims the Oscar winner is already "madly in love" with the moniker-challenged nephew of Richard Branson and is calling him "the one."
Word is, she has set the relationship to warp speed, despite the fact that Rocknroll isn't quite divorced from blue-blooded wife Eliza Cowdray, whom he married in an elaborate pagan ceremony in 2009.
"They have really fallen for each other," alleges a source. "They are even mentioning marriage."
Winslet, who turns 36 on Wednesday, met Rocknroll, 33, in August when they both escaped a fire at Branson's Caribbean estate. At the time, she had been on vacation with kids Mia, 10, and Joe, 7, and sometime model-beau Louis Dowler.
According to the Sun, Kate and Ned spent the weekend holed up at his aunt's house outside London.
Oh, and one more red flag: Rocknroll, who is employed by his uncle's Virgin Galactic space initiative, supposedly just turned down a career opportunity in the United States in order to stick close to the twice-divorced actress.
Speaking of divorce, Winslet tells the November issue of Harper's Bazaar UK that she's been "soldiering on" in the wake of her 2010 split from director Sam Mendes.
"One thing I will say about me and Sam is that it's fine, it's really fine," she acknowledges. "I'm not going to [rhymes with 'spit']-fling. There's no point in even going there. It is what it is. We're grown-ups at the end of the day, and however hard it's been for me, it's been equally hard for him.
