But wait, there's more: Turns out he's also a diplomat.
In a shaky video reportedly shot last weekend in New York by a giggly young woman, the actor steps in as two men tussle over a painting in the middle of an East Village intersection.
Gosling, with his impressive guns a-blazing in a striped tank top (not as threatening: his shopping bag and man-pris), quickly took charge, deftly separating the squabbling factions and escorting the art brawlers to the curb.
"That's the guy from ... 'The Notebook,'" marvels an eyewitness, leading another to exclaim in disbelief, "Are you serious? You're lying. ... Oh my God, it is!"
So, how did Ryan play peacemaker?
"He took them to the corner and asked them what was going on," the videographer, one Valerie Alvea, explains to E! News. "The gentleman was like, 'He stole my painting.' So [Gosling] gave the guy a $20 and asked if it was settled. He took the money out of his pocket and said, 'If that's what you're fighting for, here you go.'"
Ryan's rep didn't respond to our request for comment on the incident.
