If we were Maria Shriver, we probably would have marked Arnold Schwarzenegger's 64th birthday on Saturday by toasting marshmallows over a bonfire stoked by the custom-made contents of his closet (and maybe a Hummer or two).
But she's too classy for that.
Instead, Shriver joined her estranged husband for lunch in Beverly Hills with two of their four kids: on-the-mend son Christopher, 13, and his big brother, Patrick, 17, reports Us.
The pair, who called it quits in May, even arrived together in the same car (Arnold drove; Maria rode shotgun), and they appeared "relaxed," says a spy, who adds that the former governor "smiled a lot."
And with apologies to the Beatles song, while Shriver may no longer need her housekeeper-wooing, secret son-siring ex, she's still willing to feed him when he's 64. Word is, she picked up the tab.
"Maria grabbed for it," relays the snitch. "She was already pulling out her wallet and gave her credit card [to the waiter]. While she gave him the card, she also ordered Arnold an espresso."
Schwarzenegger, who recently amended his divorce filing after he originally ticked off the box to nix spousal support, reportedly told Maria, "Bye, darling," before exiting with the kids.
"Children and family come first," an insider tells People of the meet-up.
Echoes another, "Arnold and Maria will always come together when it comes to supporting and loving their children."
