Wesley Snipes does not like to pay taxes. But it's a good thing he has pals like Denzel and Woody to back him and who write character reference letters when he was up for tax evasion charges. After comparing Wesley to "a tree -- a mighty oak," Denzel said the actor's guiding principles were "honesty, truth and courage." Woody called him a "true citizen of the world" who "strives for rightness in all his relations." Those strong words weren't enough to save Wesley, though -- a jury found him guilty of three counts of willfully failing to file tax returns. But, hey, at least they tried!
