After much speculation in the basketball arena, superstar LeBron James announced Thursday he'll be bringing the heat to Miami. Some of the stars often sighted on South Beach are happy to welcome LeBron to the land of sun, sand--and the hardwood.
Jamie Foxx is literally ready to see the deal in ink. His friend and official deejay of the Miami Heat, DJ Irie, tweeted, "Just got off the phone with Jamie Foxx. He said if Lebron comes he's getting a tattoo with LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh on his back."
Trying to stir up trouble, Sean "P. Diddy" Combs tweeted earlier, "Breaking news!!! Lebron signs with the Knicks!! I just saw him leaving the Knicks' owners house!!! He lives next door to me! Let's go NYC."
He later retracted the statement, admitting he "wanted to start a Twitter rumor." The entertainment mogul who owns a sprawling residence on Miami's exclusive Star Island added, "Ok, I can handle Miami!!! It's my second home!!!! Let's go!!!!!!"
Dwyane is also excited to have new teammate LeBron in the locker room and share the spotlight in their joint quest for the NBA Championship title. He tweeted, "Welcome my brothers LeBron and Chris to YOUR city."
The free agent's flaming success on the court made him a hot commodity for team's rosters. He was rumored to be weighing his options among teams such as the New York Knicks and the Miami Heat or remaining with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
With South Florida as his hometown, tennis player Andy Roddick summed up the news. He tweeted, "Cue Will Smith: 'Welcome to Miami.'"
