Notorious for his drug and alcohol addictions, Robert spent most of the '90s checking in and out of treatment facilities. Let's not forget this notable incident in 1996: He entered a neighbor's home while on drugs and fell asleep in one of the beds. That same year he was pulled over for speeding on California's Pacific Coast Highway and police found an unloaded .357 Magnum, heroin and cocaine in his possession. In one of his lowest points, the actor spent a year in a California state prison for parole violation.
The "Iron Man" star has said, "Looking back, I think, 'Oh my God, I could have been done.'" Thankfully, Robert has been sober for over a decade with the support of his family and the help of meditation, yoga and the practice of Wing Chun.
