Those who thought a kiss from "Twilight" star Robert Pattinson was priceless didn't bid on his smooches at the Cinema Against AIDS benefit in Cannes, France, Thursday.
Producer Harvey Weinstein had convinced the 23-year-old actor to auction off a kiss on the cheek to the daughter of the highest bidder, but when a bidding battle ensued, he offered up two kisses -- raising $28,000 each.
Also auctioned off was former President Bill Clinton's autographed Alpine Alto saxophone for $180,000. Tennis pros Monica Seles and Jelena Jankovic sold lessons for $42,000, and a handmade Karl Lagerfeld guitar case filled with Dom Perignon champagne went for $70,000.
Director Quentin Tarantino also helped the cause by offering a special screening of "Inglourious Basterds" for $84,000.
Sharon Stone hosted the 16th annual event, attended by 800 guests, including Joshua Jackson, Paris Hilton and Hayden Panettiere, at the Hotel du Cap on the French Riviera.
The actress urged people to give generously despite the global economic slump.
"Looking down at the price of my own shoes, we in this room cannot pretend that we have nothing to give," she said.
Earlier, Stone led a heartfelt tribute in memory of late amfAR board member Natasha Richardson, which included a performance by Annie Lennox and a previously recorded statement from Richardson's husband, Liam Neeson.
"Natasha was so proud to be able to support amfAR," Neeson said. "She was a genuinely impassioned and committed advocate and spokesperson. The quest to find a cure for HIV/AIDS goes on. Natasha would want us to not give up the fight."
